Who We Are
Since 1947, the Denver Rose Society has educated the public and enriched the lives of rose growers throughout Colorado. Members form lasting friendships, share rose growing and care tips and learn from guest speakers. We enjoy the fun and challenge of exhibiting roses and visiting other gardens.
The Denver Rose Society hosts meetings on the second Thursday evening of every month from April through October. In February and March, we meet on the second Saturday morning. We meet at Denver Botanic Gardens in the Plant Society House which is located in the NW corner of the employee parking lot. In July and August we gather at member homes or other garden settings for dinner and a tour.
Each spring we host an educational SymROSEium at Denver Botanic Gardens that is always a good time with guest speakers, educational displays and plenty of time to visit with other gardeners about the upcoming rose year.
Every summer members and the general public are invited to exhibit their roses in a judged rose show (always free with paid admission to Denver Botanic Gardens). The show is usually held in August, but every fourth year we host the Rocky Mountain District Rose Show which was June 18, 2017. The theme of the show was “Birthday Bash,” in honor of the Denver Rose Society’s 70th birthday.
