A Season of Roses: Rose Care Throughout the Seasons
DRS’s Annual SymROSEium
April 8, 2023 – 9:30AM to 12:30PM
Mitchell Hall, Denver Botanic Gardens
Spring is just around the corner and a wonderful way to start the Spring rose
growing season is to attend the annual SymROSEium at the Denver Botanic Gardens. This year three speakers will present what we should do each season in the
rose garden. Topics will include pruning and planting roses in the Spring, watering and fertilizing during the Summer, and deadheading and winterizing in the
Fall. A question-and-answer period will follow the presentations. Consulting Rosarians will be available during the break and after the question-and-answer period.
A new edition of ‘Growing Roses in Colorado’, will be available for sale. We
will also have a 2024 release Plant Select special plant available for sale, Sideritis
scardica. It is a perennial evergreen herb or small shrub well known for its fuzzy
succulent foliage, fragrant orange bell-shaped flowers, and medicinal properties.
And we’ll introduce a new fertilizer, Darn Good Fertilizer! A small amount of
the fertilizer will be available for sale at the SymROSEium and we will also be
taking pre-orders. We will have a large selection of High Country Roses for sale
Please be sure to join us for the fun!
Admission is always free with paid entrance to Denver Botanic Garden if you’re not a DRS member or garden member.
Don’t miss the fun! Checks and credit cards will be accepted for sale items.
No pre-registration is required.
