Chemical Safety

April 11, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

| Free

Our April meeting will be on ‘Chemical Safety’ with Dave Ingram.  Dave has been a Consulting Rosarian for several years and speaks to many groups in the Rocky Mountain area.  Growing roses in our Rocky Mountain area usually doesn’t call for lots of chemical applications but occasionally we get damage from fungi such as mildew and black spot or from insects such as thrips, aphids, or cutter bee for example.  Dave will walk us through basic chemicals and what is safe to use in the garden in an informative and humorous program.  The program has been approved by the ARS for Consulting Rosarian credit.  The meeting will be held in the Plant Society Building at the Denver Botanic Gardens, 1007 York St, Denver, 80206.

We will also have Mile-Hi Rose Feed, Kelp and Alfalfa Meal for sale before the meeting ‘on top of the parking garage’ from 6-6:45 pm.  Look for the white van.

Entrance to the Gardens for the meeting will be through the Piñon  Gate which is just north of the gift shop entrance.  The gift shop closes at 5 pm. After you enter the Piñon Gate, proceed west through the gardens to the Plant Society Building. The Water-Wise garden and Orangery will be on your right. At the end of the Orangery, turn right down a wide paved ramp. The Plant Society Building is beyond the sliding gate on your left. You’ll exit through the Piñon Gate too. Bring a flashlight if you’d like as the pathways are dimly lit.

Hope to see you there.
