| FreeEvent Navigation

PLEASE NOTE –
Mile-Hi Rose Feed will be sold on the top level of the DBG Parking Lot from 6:00 pm until 6:45 pm. This is a great opportunity to load up for the season!
This program is in Gates Hall instead of the Plant Society Building at Denver Botanic Gardens. Enter the gardens through the Pinyon Gate which is located directly north of the gift shop. A Denver Rose Society volunteer will be at the gate until 6:50 pm to direct you inside to Gate’s Hall. The gate will then be locked, so please come early to get a good seat!
Join us for an informative program on Plant Select® with their Executive Director Ross Shrigley – “Plant Select® Smart Plant Choices for Challenging Climates.”
Our Colorado climate can make gardening challenging and as a gardener we are always looking for durable plants for our gardens. Plant Select®, a non-profit collaboration of Colorado State University, Denver Botanic Gardens and professional horticulturists started offering plants designed to thrive in a broad range of conditions and to flourish with less water, be disease and insect resistant and non-invasive. The plants range from grasses, trees, shrubs, perennials to grass for your lawn area. Many of these plants can be grown as companion plants to your roses. They offer two roses – Ruby Voodoo and Rosa glauca, a redleaf rose.
Ross Shrigley will give us an over-view of the program and a PowerPoint presentation on the newest and hardiest of the Plant Select plants. Ross is the Executive Director of Plant Select® and joined them in 2017 after several years in the Green industry. For more information and a list of Plant Select® plants go to our plants.
Reminder – this program is in Gates Hall instead of the Plant Society Building at Denver Botanic Gardens.
