Waterwise & Pollinator Friendly Roses

March 13, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Virtual Meeting

MARCH MEETING!
Saturday, March 13, 10am – 12pm, “Waterwise & Pollinator-Friendly Roses”
presented by Barbara Carvallo, Consulting Rosarian, presented virtually.
Our program topic for this meeting will be “Waterwise & PollinatorFriendly Roses.” Our presenter will be Barbara Carvallo, a Colorado
Master Gardener, Consulting Rosarian and DRS member. Barbara has
been a Master Gardener for four years and became a Consulting Rosarian
last year. She has an interest in creating pollinator habitats and applying
waterwise and xeric gardening principles to rose gardens.
A number of roses are proving to be waterwise, and in the case of some
old garden roses and others, even xeric. Roses with single and semidouble bloom types often attract pollinators. Not only the European honey bee, but many of our native species as well. In addition, by planting companion plants that meet the criteria for waterwise, xeric and pollinatorfriendly landscapes, it will be possible to design gardens that meet our changing climate needs and
provide habitats for pollinators of all kinds.

Another virtual meeting! Watch for a Live Link to come your way via Constant Contact.
And we’ll also send a reminder two days before the meeting to make your linking easy.
